Self-styled Rachel Oluwabukola Martins, better known by her stage name DJ Dimple Nipple, is Nigeria’s most popular female disc jockey. In an interview with Potpourri, she revealed that her career in entertainment began in 2017 as a video vixen, describing it as a start she’d rather forget.
“I started out as a video vixen, but it didn’t work out since I was mistreated and they didn’t pay well,” she said. “The first music video I was ever in was Skales ft Tekno’s “Give Me Love” in March 2017, and when I arrived on set that day, everyone was stunned, like, who’s this lady, and they wanted me as the main vixen despite the fact that I was just cast as an extra.
I had to let the main vixen do her thing because she was acting up, and guess what, the person who was supposed to pay us refused to pay me for my work.
This is the first time I’ve ever done a video shoot.” I felt terrible because that was my last chance of survival at the time, and I was just 17 years old. I lost my mother when I was 15 years old, and I had to make sacrifices for my four younger sisters. She said, “I don’t believe I should go into it.”
Rachel Oluwabukola Martins, a.k.a. DJ Dimple Nipple, would go on to say that the beginning was a shattered one.
to carve out a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a dancer, actress, and disc jockey.
